The NRS SSRN was established in 2006 and is funded by the Chief Scientist Office

Mission Statement:

The NRS Scottish Stroke Research Network aims to expand stroke research in Scotland whilst ensuring it is of high quality, timely and better tailored to the needs of the people of Scotland.

National aims include:

• Raise awareness of stroke research and improve stroke care
• Maintaining and enhancing the quality of research
• Improving the efficiency of research
• Improving research coordination
• Improving the integration of research
• Widening research participation
